Sick Leave

|Sick Leave

An employee is entitled to unlimited sick leave. However, he is entitled to receive throughout the leave period wages equivalent to wages of a working day, but not exceeding 30 working days per year.

When an employee takes sick leave for three or more than three days, an employer can request him to present a certification of such illness from a licensed physician or an official medical establishment. Scheduled holidays are not counted in determining the consecutive days of sick leave.

Injury or illness as a result of work or child birth is not considered sick leave because it is covered by other provisions of the Labor Protection Act.
