Opening a corporate bank account is an important step for companies who are doing businesses in Thailand.

Every bank has his own requirements for opening a corporate bank account. In general, they will require the company’s Certificate of Registration, Memorandum of Association, company by-laws, and the list of shareholders, certified by the Department of Business Development. These documents must not be over a month old.

Usually, only the corporate director with signatory power can open a bank account.
Note that as long as the company’s foreign director does not have a work permit, that foreign director can only open a saving account. If foreign currency or current account (check book) are needed, then these need to be opened by a Thai director. The foreign director cannot operate those two accounts until  a work permit has been acquired.
